What is PGT-A (formerly known as PGS)? 

PGT-A (preimplantation genetic testing for aneuploidies) is a genetic test performed on embryos produced through IVF. PGT-A gives information about embryos’ genetic health. The PGT-A test allows to identificate aneuploidies (e.g. Down syndrome, Patau syndrome, Edwards syndrome, Turner syndrome, Klinefelter syndrome) and to select a healthy and most promising embryo for transfer. It improves your chance of achieving a successful pregnancy. 

 

What does the treatment look like?

The first appointment is scheduled after consulting current test results with our medical specialist:

  • AMH (Anti-Mullerian Hormone)
  • Prolactin
  • TSH
  • Anty-TPO
  • FSH (done between 2nd-3rd day of your cycle)
  • LH (done between 2nd-3rd day of your cycle)
  • Estradiol (done between 2nd-3rd day of your cycle)

All tests should not be older than 6 months and they can be done at our Clinic, however, to shorten the whole process and possible number of visits, it is recommended to send it before the  first consultation.

 

The first consultation

The­ first visit at Gyncentrum Clinic is really short. It is planned for 1-2 days to perform a medical consultation, which includes

  • ultrasound examinations
  • sperm analysis
  • gynaecological examination

During this visit sperm can be tested, vitrified, and stored at our Gyncentrum International Sperm and Egg Bank. Thus, your partner does not need to be present during your second visit in Poland.

 

The second visit

On the 10th day of your cycle the second visit at our Clinic is scheduled. Our doctor will do ultrasound and other required tests. This stage lasts 5-8 days, and requires 2-3 visits at our Clinic. The whole procedure leads you to embryo transfer.

In particular cases, it is possible to come to Poland for a longer stay (about 18-20 days) to undergo the whole treatment during one visit. Every request is considered individually.
